Exploring Luang Prabang.
We decided we wanted to also check out a little of Laos on this trip. Now that I’ve been there I want to spend a lot more time in Laos. We picked Luang Prabang as the city to visit. I found this great place to stay. Le Bel Air Boutique Resort & Villa. It’s hard to believe this place was only $40 per night including a great breakfast. I felt like I was at a 5 star resort with the amazing service. I had to put a couple pics of the room. So large and perfectly clean.
First day out just walked around and explored. Love this local school.
Locals just picking fruit off the tree.
Some local property for sale. Anybody looking for vacation home.
Love this bamboo bridge they put up to make it across the river.
The monks getting some fruit picking done also.
Beautiful Temples Everywhere
Love the dress fish on the streets
The kiang Si waterfalls where a must do. So beautiful and a grey place to beat the heat.
Yes I was sporting Vibram’s But they saved my feet many times on this trip.
Jump Amber Jump
Lizard in a light!
Thought we would jump on the ferry with our scooter to check out the less visited side of the river. We rented a scooter for the 4 days we where in Laos. It’s the best way to get around. You can do your own thing anytime you want which is great.
Loved this family we came across. We had bought a handful of pens and paper for the kids to draw with and passed them out to the kids. These kids really loved them.
Mom was happy we stopped by.
Amber showing off her scooter skills through a small village.
Love the local markets. We tried to buy a bottle of water here. But the owner wouldn’t sell it to us. At first we couldn’t figure out why. Then we finally figured out that the water bottles he sells are bottles that he refilled out of his well. He was worried about getting us sick. Everybody is so amazing here.
Just another herd of water buffalo crossing the road.
There are these crazy fish tanks at all the spas. They say these fish eat all your dead skin off your feet. We had to try it.
The fish where living my feet.
The seemed to love Amber’s feet also.
There was a local buddhist ceremony going on in all the temples in town. It turns out it’s one of the biggest Buddhist ceremonies of the year. We where asking a local lady selling these offerings outside one of the temples. She didn’t really speak english but she went all out for us. She even went in her house to get us the proper things to wear into the temple. She was so nice. It was an awesome experience.
She even let Amber borrow a pair of her pants.
So cool just wandering around the town at night. You here all these drums. It sounds amazing.
Time to visit the elephants at Elephant Village. This place is great. They rescue elephants from around the country that are not being treated properly.
These elephants just love people showing them some love.
They even had a pool we could hangout in after out rife waiting for the elephants bathing time.
A little under water photo shoot. Love our GOPRO’s
Bath time !
They recently had a new edition to the elephant family there. This is Maxi the 1 year old running aground the jungle. She really liked Amber and chased her around the river.
She loves sticking to her mommy.
The nest day we got up early to see the morning offering to all the monks. It starts around 5:30am. Loved seeing all the locals offering food to the monks.
Tuk Tuk time!
Some more cute kids to handout some pens to.
Amber was in full effect. She blended right in with the locals.
